The used dairy machines we can sell in reconditioned condition or in ‘as is’ condition. We completely rebuild the used dairy machines in our own workshop, with more than 50 engineers. But not only the dairy processing machinery we can supply, also the used packaging machinery for example cup filling, carton filling, bag filling etc. We do this with quality, service and warranty. This is a win-win situation, because the investment is low and reusing is good for the environment. Moreover, our fast delivery time is a big advantage for you.
Lekkerkerker Dairy & Food Equipment specialises in used machines. A-brands, the lifecycle of which is extended by re-use. The Return On Investment (ROI) is many times lower than it is for new machinery. We offer 3 options in terms of used machines:
- Complete refurbishment
- An inspection check, or ‘good running’
- In the condition in which they left the factory, or ‘as is’
Refurbished Dairy processing machinery
For more than 20 years now, Lekkerkerker has specialised in the complete refurbishment of used dairy machinery. You may be wondering why used machines? It's simple. We extend the life cycle of machines to avoid waste. The brands we stock are proven A-brands which have proved themselves over decades. The strong, high quality way in which these machines are built enable us to give them a second lease of life. These often mechanical machines are easy to maintain and following a thorough overhaul they can easily continue to manufacture for another 10 years or more.
In addition, the investment required on the part of our customers is many times less than for a new machine and the payback time (ROI) is shorter. Our standard procedure when completely refurbishing a 2nd life machine is:
- Strip down to the frame: blasting and spraying of steel components
- All component wear: replacement of bearings, bushes and gaskets
- Replacement of damaged or worn components
- New cabling and control systems (latest updates)
- 6 month guarantee
- Guaranteed spare parts supply for 5 years
- Option: supervision of commissioning and operator training
- Option: CE marking Option: custom modifications
Control check (Good running)
A cheaper solution than complete refurbishment is the control check. The machine is complete and is tested in our workshop. The accessible wear components such as rubbers and gaskets are replaced if necessary. Bearings and bushes are only replaced if necessary. The existing control system is re-used and the documentation is present. This can be tailored to requirement by consultation.
This price is always subject to conditions, as on occasion it becomes evident during the work on the machine that there is an expensive faults. If this is the case, the buyer receives a quotation for the additional costs and is also given the option to cancel the purchase.
‘As is’ condition (as it is)
Machines are almost always sold ex-factory and can be deployed in the same condition. That's why we also supply machines which are in the condition in which we bought them. However, the machine has not been inspected by us and there is no guarantee of its current condition. We always recommend that a machine is inspected prior to purchase and only to buy ‘as is’ if you have a thorough knowledge of machines. We can always tell you whether we purchased the machine in operating condition or whether it had already been decommissioned. Documentation is not always included and can only be supplied if it was present at the time of purchase.
Lekkerkerker Dairy & Food Equipment, formerly known as Machinehandel Lekkerkerker, is a family business which has specialized in dairy processing and packaging machinery since its foundation in 1996. Both 2nd hand reconditioned machines and new lines are manufactured in our 5,000m2 workshop. Our core values are flexibility, innovation and customer focus. A sustainable approach is important to our business, and we achieve this basically by making a contribution to the circular economy by extending the life cycle of dairy machinery. We also take a critical look at the materials we use, promote recycling and reduction, our energy comes from renewable resources and our gas consumption is compensated for CO2.
How it began - from dairy producer to machinery manufacturer
Our founder, Kees Lekkerkerker, began making cheese on his farm in the 1970's after working in a dairy for many years. In the 1980's he began to produce other dairy products. The growth he achieved led to the requirement for an expansion in machine capacity. In a small workshop next to the factory, Kees began to refurbish purchased machines for his own factory. After the factory was completed, he noticed a demand in the market for his refurbished machines so Kees carried on doing it. In 1996 the trade and refurbishment of machinery became too large and the activity was relocated from Benschop to Lopik. From that moment on, Machinehandel Lekkerkerker was officially founded.
2016 – an exceptional year
2016 was the company's 20th year in existence. A great milestone and a good time to take a look back over what we had achieved. In recent years we have grown to become a company which employs 60 people, we undertake projects in more than 80 countries and have 8,000m2 of storage space with over 2,000 machines on stock. Partly due to our strong international growth we have decided to take the opportunity of our anniversary year in 2016 to change the company name to Lekkerkerker Dairy & Food Equipment. This name change and a change of logo are better suited to the path the business is following. Lekkerkerker Dairy & Food Equipment forms part of the Lekkerkerker Group (www.lekkerkerkergroup.com), which also includes 2 dairy production companies. The shared expertise makes the group: “A strong team in dairy”. In the meantime founder Kees Lekkerkerker had transferred the daily management of the machine division to his son Niels Lekkerkerker, who becomes director and co-owner with effect from 2016s. Along with his sister, Mariska Lekkerkerker, they head up the Lekkerkerker Group.
Through its knowledge and craftsmanship, Lekkerkerker Dairy & Food Equipment has proved over the last 20 years that good quality used processing and packaging machines can be redeployed as if they are new. There is a large stock of machines and items which are modified on a daily basis and which can be viewed online. Alongside the machines, the hardware, process information and guidance for various products is also a service which is provided. Depending upon the customer's needs, everything can be provided, from stand-alone machines through to complete lines, including installation, commissioning and training, at home and abroad. Every project is tailored to the customer's requirements.
Lekkerkerker Group – A strong team in dairy
The group also comprises 4 other businesses. The group is split into two divisions, food production and the machinery companies. The food production companies are part of Lekkerkerker Food division. Lekkerkerker Dairy & Food Equipment, UsedDairyEquipment.com and DFM Auctions are part of the machinery division. Due to the synergy between the companies, the exchange of expertise and opportunities for innovation, we are a Strong Team in Dairy.
