After auto-loading a pig’s leg, the vertical multi-jointed deboning robot cuts the meat along the bone and debones calf and thigh bones. The system not only has an auto-detect function to determine the difference between the right or the left leg, but also a function that measures the length of bones enabling the robot to respond to the individual differences between calf and thigh bones.

The system doesn’t cut the meat off, but debones it by dismantling, so the meat is free from the damages caused by knives. Force sensor identifies the most proper torque of cutting with feedback control. Since human hands don’t touch the meat, the problem of sanitation and security is highly improved. HAMDAS-RX will contribute to yield improvement and man-power savings.
