SCREW PRESSES

Descripción
Mechanical dewatering is the use of mechanical force to remove the water from the product. This method is the most efficient way to get rid of the water. VetterTec has over 90 years of experience in the mechanical dewatering.
SCREW PRESSES – PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
VetterTec screw presses are used to dewater fibrous materials of different consistencies.
They are driven by mechanical or hydraulic systems with infinitely variable speed or electronic control.
- the wet material is fed into the filling box (feed hopper)
- moves into the screw / screen section and is compressed by screw compression
- the liquid is passing the screen and is released in the collection box while the dewatered product leaves via the discharge box
Depending on the application, we use specific conical or cylindrical screws. Heavy duty design is possible. Special designs – adapted to customer’s requirements in Food standard, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) – are also available. The specific screen basket execution ensures a resistant and significant increase of the dewatering area.
FIELDS OF APPLICATION
VetterTec screw presses are used in a wide range of applications. Predominantly, they are used for mechanical dewatering, but also to wash out soluble parts of a product.
For optimal operation each press is especially tailored to its application. To this end, either a conical or a cylindrical design can be chosen, the screw geometry is adapted, the screen perforation optimized, the drive designed, etc.
According to requirements, pressing tests either on the customer’s site or in a lab can be a useful supplement.
